Visit the exhibition of the MARE competition in Sant Antoni
Until the 24th of July you have the opportunity to see the exhibition "Do we live facing the sea?", a compilation of the winning images from the 2nd MARE competition. The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness to defend Ibiza's sea.
The chosen venue is the Port of San Antonio, specifically the Paseo del Mar, which is located between the Yacht Club and the town's Town Hall. A total of 45 images submitted to the competition will be on display.
Here are the directions on how to get there via this link.
What is the MARE competition?
MARE is the Audiovisual Contest for the Conservation of the Balearic Sea. Its aim is to "get to know the privileged environment that surrounds us and accelerate its conservation", as stated by the organisation itself in Diario de Ibiza.
The exhibition has a participatory component, as visitors can take part in a draw to win one of the images on display in printed format. For this purpose, a QR code system has been set up so that people can participate by simply leaving their opinion.
The coordinator of MARE, Sara García Betorz, was very happy to be able to present "MARE's first street exhibition on the islands". She, who is also Project Manager of the Marilles Foundation, encourages "everyone to come along" and "get to know better the great beauty and richness of our marine environment".
Participation is open for the 3rd edition of MARE
Through the web www.marebalear.org you can now register to take part in the third edition of this photography competition. You have until 15 September 2022 and you can submit up to 20 photographs.
Each image must be related to the Mediterranean Sea, more specifically the Balearic Sea, as well as being accompanied by a conservation-related message. There are four categories in the competition: Adult Expert (> 18 years old), Adult Amateur (> 18 years old), Youth (young people between 14-17 years old) and children.
