Sant Antoni's patron saint festival: full programme
On the 10th of January, the patron saint's fiestas of the town of Sant Antoni de Portmany, in Ibiza, got underway. Until the 15th of March 2020, tourists and residents can enjoy a multitude of activities for everyone.
In today's post we are going to select some of them that you can't miss, as for the moment we haven't returned with the best sea tours in Ibiza and Formentera. We hope you enjoy them!

Exhibition and talk about "The Rolling Stones"
On Thursday, January 16, the exhibition "The Rolling Stones. Collection Sánchez-Runde" will be opened at the Far de ses Coves Blanques. It is an unprecedented exhibition in which more than 200 pieces related to the group (including a guitar by Ron Wood) by the collector Alberto Sánchez-Runde will be on display.
That same day at 6pm there will be a related talk at the Centro Cultural Cervantes by Mariskal Romero, director of La Heavy magazine and creator of the website MariskalRock.com. The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday, from 5pm to 8pm, until 15 February.
Live music and dance on the big day
Friday, February 17th is the big day of the town, the day of Sant Antoni. In the evening there will be a concert by the Smoking Stones (a tribute band to The Rolling Stones) while throughout the day (from 1pm) you can enjoy live music and food trucks on the main promenade of the town.
In the municipal tent, the whole family will also be able to enjoy the dance performances by the APE Dream Dance company. From 6 p.m. onwards.
Sport couldn't be missed...
For this reason, on Friday the 24th of January an exhibition of Rhythmic Gymnastics has been organised in the same tent. The Motoclub Formentera Eivissa will be in charge of the "base motorcycling day" in the Can Coix sports area on Saturday the 25th, and the Festes de Sant Antoni swimming trophy will also be held in the same municipal pool.
An "open" chess trophy complements the activities on the same Saturday, while on Sunday the protagonist will be the absolute and base trial championship. The event will take place in Sa Pedrera.
And of course, typical gastronomy!
There are no local festivities that are worthwhile if you cannot taste the local product and if you cannot enjoy the traditional recipes. These patron saint's fiestas of Sant Antoni are no exception: on Friday 31 January you can enjoy a popular "frit" of pork in the village - delicious!
But the most outstanding event in this respect is undoubtedly the World Championship of Rice from Matanzas, which will take place on Saturday 1 February in Calle Rossell. Music, entertainment, traditional dances, fun, prizes and surprises... Indispensable!
