Sea Experience Ibiza was present at FITUR 2020
The International Tourism Fair FITUR celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. This edition has been a great success and a new record number of visitors has been set.
More than 150,000 professionals from 165 countries and different regions gathered at the IFEMA show in Madrid, which for a few days became the largest showcase for the tourism industry worldwide.
Sea Experience Ibiza participated in these days, the most important in the sector, and we'll give you a summary of the most interesting events below!
A new record-breaking edition
The good health enjoyed by the tourism sector was reflected in FITUR 2020 figures. Over 100,000 people attended the fair, bringing the total number of participants to over 255,000.
It is estimated that this movement has had an economic impact of 330 million euros, while the growth of international representatives at the event has increased by 6.4%.
Proof of the great success of this edition of FITUR has been the increase in exhibition space by 3.3% (occupying 69,697.5 net m2 in 10 different pavilions).
Ibiza's 'own sound' at FITUR 2020
"What does Ibiza sound like?" Trying to answer this question and with the intention of promoting all the essence of our island, the Consell d'Eivissa presented a promotional video that will surprise those people who still believe that Ibiza is just a beach and a party:
Gastronomy, culture, fashion, art, nature, sport, ... All this and much more awaits you in Ibiza!
The battle against plastic continues...
The pollution of our oceans by plastics is still a topical issue and a matter of debate. In the context of FITUR it has not been an exception; in fact, the #ibizastopplastic initiative to reduce its use was announced.
At Sea Experience Ibiza we are convinced that all people, organisations and institutions should do their bit to ensure stories like the one about Ulises the turtle are never repeated (although in this case it would have a happy ending).
So you know, take conscience!
What awaits you in Ibiza this 2020 season?
