Beach Restaurants in Formentera

You are probably aware of the fame of beach restaurants of Formentera. Unfortunately, too often the news about these establishments come in relation to their high (sometimes exorbitant) prices.

Although it is true that in the small town of Pitiusas we can find one of the best kitchens in the Mediterranean and that this is not cheap, there are low-cost alternatives that will allow you to eat well and cheaply on Formentera.

An example of this is the Sa Platgeta restaurant on Migjorn beach, where you can order a delicious paella at a very competitive price. Or the restaurant Es Cap, on the way to Cala Saona, highly recommended if you are travelling in a group.

Typical restaurants of Formentera

If you're looking for a more authentic experience, you'll inevitably have to go into the interior of the island. To find a typical Formentera restaurant at a good price, you could start in the village of Sant Ferran by visiting the mythical Fonda Pepe.

Or, on the way to the Faro de la Mola, you could stop at the restaurant El Mirador, with spectacular views and an unbeatable value for money. A guaranteed success!

Fresh fish restaurants on Formentera

It would be a pity if during your holidays in Ibiza and Formentera you did not taste the excellent fresh fish offered by the restaurants of the archipelago. A real pity!

But many times you turn back because of the prices you see on the menus, don't you? Our personal recommendation is that if you want to enjoy a good fresh fish without scratching your pocket too much give the restaurant Can Rafalet a chance (although paellas are their speciality). You will find it in Es Caló.

Another interesting option is the Vogamarí restaurant, in the Migjorn area.

Where to eat not so cheap in Formentera

If you don't need to skimp on expense, Formentera is also home to some amazing restaurants. Eating out won't be that cheap, but the experience may well be worth it if you're celebrating a special occasion - or if you just want to treat yourself!

Here you have avant-garde and innovative proposals such as Ritmo Formentera (pictured above), restaurants in idyllic rural settings such as Casbah Formentera (located in the hotel of the same name) or surprising dishes such as those you'll find at La Pezquería.

You probably know other famous restaurants where to eat in Formentera, but the interesting thing is to find other less popular gems like the ones we have suggested, right?

What to do in Formentera?

We're happier on a full stomach, aren't we? Although Formentera calls for calm, rest and disconnection, you also have plenty of things to do to digest that food that has cost you so little (and tasted so good!).

You could take a stroll around one of the craft markets you can find on Formentera and bring a special souvenir to that person who is also special.
